#225 - Basecap Trucker Cap Tokyo Bleached
Trucker Cap (Snapback) with a freehand embroidered front patch (the japanese signs for Tokyo) and tiny brass 877 logo bolt on the side.
Each cap is hand bleached and looks a bit different.
Each patch is one of a kind, stitched with a rare freemotion embroidery machine from 1950. The machine is operated freehand by moving the hoop under the needle so we can literally draw on the fabric. Each embroidery is unique with a great handcrafted vintage look and feel.
Exactely these machines were used from 1925 to 1980 for manufacturing advertising patches, customizing name patches on workshirts, making individual embroideries on japanese souvenir jackets or biker vests. In motorsports large advertising slogans were stitched on the back of the racing team’s overalls. The process is very elaborate and so it's not surprising that is was replaced by computer embroidery to be economically viable. But we think it's worth it as our results are more special with a nice imperfect look and feel.
